The Broken Lens: Antimicrobial Resistance in Humanitarian Settings
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing threat in humanitarian and low-resource settings, especially in conflict-affected regions. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has prioritized reducing AMR burden since 2014, but there is a lack of concrete steps to translate these commitments into tangible actions. The report draws on nine operational case studies from Gaza, Afghanistan, Mozambique, north Syria, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Bangladesh to highlight the need for a context-adapted approach to AMR, particularly for vulnerable groups.
